Skarpenord delivers actuators to FPSO Johan Castberg

Skarpenord has today been awarded a contract from Klinger-Westad on the delivery of equipment for the Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO), Johan Castberg.

Skarpenord’s scope of delivery consists of engineering and hydraulic actuators. The fabrication will start immediately, and the equipment will be delivered in Q3, 2023.

“This is a result of a strong and reliable cooperation with Klinger-Westad. This is an important contract for our Skarpenord, and it demonstrates again our ability to deliver to such major projects. More than 40 years in the business makes us an experienced supplier, especially when quality matters,” says Managing Director Trond Bø.       

The production ship Johan Castberg is now docked at Aker-Solutions shipyard at Stord, where it will be completed and tested. The plan is to tow the FPSO to the Johan Castberg field in the Barents Sea in early 2024. Production is planned to start in the end of 2024.
