The valve remote control system contains at least of one Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU), at least one Solenoid Valve Cabinet (SVC) and various numbers of control circuits and Actuator sizes and types.
The Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) generates and delivers pressurized hydraulic oil to the Solenoid Valve Cabinet (SVC), which through solenoid valves distributes the oil to the Actuators mounted on valve. The solenoids are usually controlled from a superior system, but can be controlled from a Skarpenord Control unit as well. Communication with a superior system is done by Remote I/O or serial link but can also be directly wired.
The hydraulic actuators can be assembled with many different valve brands and types. The connection between valve and actuator is based on the ISO 5211 standard for top flange. The actuators can be single acting with spring return or double acting with mechanical locking.
The Valve Remote Control system consists of:
- Control/Operator panel
- Solenoid Valve Cabinet
- Hydraulic Power Unit
- Hydraulic actuators (single – and double acting)
The Valve Remote Control system delivered from Skarpenord can be operated from:
- Skarpenord computerized valve control
- or the vessels main automation system
- or conventional control console with mimic panel
